Currently an on-air personality for WPGC 95.5′s morning show, Heat is also a member of the Core DJs and as well, the Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning DC Metropolitan area hip-hop blog DCMumboSauce.com. With regular gigs spinning at s a plethora of top DC nightspots, she is truly one of the busiest women in arguably America’s most re-ascendant city.
Her ever-filling plate of high-profile positions has also rewarded her well in the awards department. At the DMV Awards, she has been a multiple-time recipient of awards for having the best blog (DCMumboSauce.com), as well as being the Most Supportive Media Person, Most Supportive Radio Personality and Most Supportive DJ. With features in the Washington Post, Complex Magazine, Hip-Hop Weekly, and a number of other journals, the impressive spread of her excellence continues to gain larger and more diverse audiences. It’s no surprise that major companies such as McDonald’s and Nike have reached out to DJ Heat to spin at their events. Forever breaking the glass ceiling, DJ Heat placed a respective 3rd in the DC leg of the 2013 Red Bull Thre3style DJ Battle. She was the only female out of 5 DJs competing, and only the second female DJ to compete in the Red Bull competition.
